About Me

In October, 1997, my husband Mark and I, decided to move to Ecuador. We settled in Cuenca, the third largest city. It is nestled in a valley surrounded by the Andes Mountain range. It has been an amazing aventure.

All's Well

Thank you for your prayers during these last few days. Things are now pretty much back to normal. The incident has opened the way for great conversations in the ministry though. Many feel that it was just political band standing on the part of the President. I'm so happy that we don't get involved in these matters and we have a righteous and just ruler. But, it does make you feel pity for the people that have to suffer under man's domination while waiting for Christ'a rulership to take action.

  1. We are very relieved that the situation is back to normal. Yes I can only imagine that many prayers went up to Jehovah in your behalf.
Hopefully things will remain quiet for a while so your work there will go unhindered.

  2. Good morning,

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I live here in Portland, Oregon and would like to taste the experience of living where the need is greater for 3 1/2 months. Either from December to March or March to June or....(I'm in school, so would like to skip a term to come.)

I requested a letter of introduction a couple of weeks ago, my COBE said "what's that?" So hopefully that will come soon so that I can get in touch with the branch down in Ecuador. I remember when I visited Costa Rica we were able to FAX, so hoping it is possible to fax the Ecuadorian branch.

I am a single pioneer and I just lost my job, so perhaps getting a bit antsy to go sooner rather then later, but trying hard to listen to what Jehovah as I pray about the matter. I had a really neat blog spot of some girls (THe See's Family) that just moved from Quito to Cuenca, but my computer crashed and I lost the link. They are from Oregon. Do you know them? I have not met them, but I've met some of their family over in Willamette Park Congregation. DO you know the address of their blog? I would really like to send them an email/comment as well.

Your experiences are really encouraging! Thanks for sharing and you are in our prayers.

    Warm regards,
